| Back to the main gallery MY BURNT PICASSO: This screen was something I found in the garbage. One day I saw how beautiful it had once looked. When I was younger, I think 19, I accidentally burned down my house. Along with being arrested for having a pot plant in my house and almost losing my fulltime job with the board of education because of that I almost had a nervous break down. In 2005 while walking with a friend I found an old screen-printing frame. I decided to think of this screen as if it were a Picasso that I owned and lost in the fire that had happened years earlier. How it must have felt if it was burnt in a fire. I scribbled on it with paint to symbolize the loss I felt when I had the house fire. Blair 05 24 by 20” |
